Did anyone else think once Capt. Tightpants blew the game in the 8th, the Cubs were destined to lose? And then again with Hawkins in the 11th? I know I sure did. But this was a big win.
Jon Leicester (the man with the silent "ice" in his name) pitched three scoreless innings for his first career win. Thankfully, the game didn't go any further because Maddux was warming up to come in.
Sammy went 1-2 with a single and a walk in a rehab assignment yesterday. He should be back on Friday.
